A flying duck race (Indonesian: Pacu Itiak) is a tradition in Payakumbuh, West Sumatra.〔(TRAVEL / Fowl play in Payakumbuh: Duck racing is the unique sport of West Sumatra ) by Sue Nelson 21 February 1993〕 Young female ducks (4–6 months old) that cannot fully fly are used.
